Panoramic private rural views of Lyttelton harbour, this house nestles into its setting. Existing trees were maintained during construction, and the house looks established. Very steep site, it is solidly built on rock with combination of plastered concrete block and cedar cladding, it blends well into the environment. Polished concrete floors and neutral finishes provide a fresh feel. The solid construction keeps the house very warm in winter and cool in summer.
All the rooms face the view and all day sun. The open plan kitchen/dining/living areas open out onto a terrace (which extends the full length of the house and juts out to make one feel like they are floating above the water below) makes for a fabulous entertainment space, especially with the BBq almost an extension of the kitchen and glass stackers creating an indoor outdoor flow.
Ground level bedrooms (very private with concrete intermediate floors) all open out onto a deck with a spa at the end. Even the shower has a view, with floor to ceiling windows. There is no need for blinds in this house, only to sometimes shade a bit of sun!
